Israeli Design In Marilyn Ambach’s Collages

Marilyn Ambach CollagesMarilyn Ambach was born in Belgium but It was only when she moved to Israel that she started making collages. At first, just to decorate her apartment, but soon she discovered a new passion to creating art by collecting beautiful things. She didn’t have any schooling in drawing or painting and the art of collages allowed her absolute freedom of choice in mixing materials, colors, moods and vibes.
Her collages are made of photos, newspapers, souvenirs, tickets of all kind, notes, presents, broken accessories, etc. It’s the mixture of it all that makes them special.

Marilyn uses happy colors and a lot of glitter in her designs. When asked why she explains: “Because glitter shines, you shine, life shines, and the sun shines on all of us. Glitter means glamour, being glamorous, in your own way. Maybe more on the inside than on the outside, whatever, it’s being you.”
Marilyn’s collages always express the joy of life: the aesthetics of colors, the power of shiny. They have personal expressions but universal meanings about the beauty of life.
